"A BRIEFCASE FULL OF....................PLANTERS"
The Peanut Pals website received this email with photos from Kosta Baltov of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He wrote on February 2, 2012:
"Greetings,
My father-in-law a Planters peanuts Canadian District Salesman in the 1960's. I have his original company briefcase complete with Planters' sealed products that he used to sell to the shops in Northern Ontario, Canada. the briefcase consists of two layers of of containers with packages glued on to them. A mark-up toll and a personal manual calculator with slide rule (made in Japan, pre-digital age), Price list circa June 17, 1968 and a Canadian District salesmen team photo.
It is amazing that after 44 years the peanuts inside the sealed packages are still in good shape and nothing seems to be moldy. Especially, the dry roasted package when shaken, sounds still crispy, (not to be eaten of course). I assume that not too many actual peanut products from that period exist today.
Regards,
Kosta Baltov
